Wazzup 2011

I realized tonight that New Year's is kind of overrated. Now don't get me wrong. I love a glass of ice cold sparkling cider and spending time with my family and looking forward to starting anew, but I'm one of those people that hates the idea of getting old and New Year's is one of those things that makes me feel like my life is just flashing in front of me. I'm not going to even bother making resolutions (mainly because they usually involve me losing 10 pounds and let's be honest we can all be sure that won't happen :).

What I would like to do, rather than posting a bajillion photos, is share with you those that have inspired me this year. This leads me to tell you that I am a stalker, a creeper whatever you want to call it, that's what I am. There are about 25 various photography blogs that I stalk on a regular basis. I find myself in awe of these photographers and their talents and 9 times out of 10 I don't know them personally, but hey, who cares?!

Jillian Lee Photography (She's amazing. She has helped me so much this year, especially in giving me advice on shooting my first wedding!)

Jodi Miller Photography (A husband and wife team that's VA based which adds them to the top of my list)

Nancy Ray Photography (Something about husband and wife teams puts a really big smile on my face)

Color and Dust (Husband and Wife team. I'm obsessed with their style. Some of their photographs are paintings I'm pretty sure)

Jessica Deane Photography (I feel like she taught me everything I know. She's amazing and one of the sweetest people (Yes, I've actually met her!)

Happy New Year's to all of my faithful followers!

Family, family, family.

I absolutely love this family! It is boys galore! I know from personal experience how fantastic it is to have tons of siblings and cousins and looking at the photos of these 5 always make me remember that. I've known one half of this family since what feels like the beginning of time. When you add their two cousins in the mix then it's a real party! I used to babysit their boys all of the time and now that they've moved, seeing them is always extra special.  I hope you enjoy a few shots of this beautiful family.

had to share

I wont be able to put up a full post from this shoot for a while but I came across this picture and had to share it. None of my grandparents are still living and photos like this make me miss them but they also make me think of all of the good times I had or could have had with them :)

first snow

Can we just take a second to talk about the fact that I have really pretty friends? I feel so spoiled in that whenever I want to take some photos, I have so many willing friends to act as my subjects! I believe that it is the thing being photographed that makes the picture, not the photographer. These photos truly illustrate that.
Thank you Olivia, Christian, Marwah and Meredith.
