As of last night, we have all said "goodbye" to 2011.
A new year is upon us which means a continuation for some. A fresh start for others. Or maybe a second chance.
For CCP, it's been a relatively dramatic face lift! I came to the realization that my current blog does not reflect me at all. The flags are cute yes, but I'm pretty sure I saw them in the bedroom of a five year old the other day. I mean, sorry but do I look like a flag banner person to you? No? My thoughts exactly. I wanted something simple but still fun. Something that wouldn't take away from the focus of my blog, the photos. So I decided to move things over to Wordpress. Blogspot has treated me well but I am headed out!
So now you should head out too and go on over to my new blog, http://carriecolemanblog.wordpress.com/, and check it out.
I hope you're just as excited as I am!

New year, new phone....NEW BLOG!
Yes, ladies and gents, the face of Carrie Coleman Photography will be making a move from good ole blogspot in the year 2012. I have a lot of things planned for the year, goals that I hope to reach in regards to my business but I'll be posting more about that later and linking you all to my new blog as soon as it's all finished!
I got a new phone a few weeks ago, the iPhone 4s. (Goodbye Crackberry!) The first app I downloaded was INSTAGRAM!! It is the coolest thing and I'm obsessed. Here a few of the photos I've taken with this awesome app and here is how I spent the last few days of 2011...
Enjoying the blue skies and the Virginia countryside.
Playing ten games of Monopoly. There was a lot of screaming.
Wrapping presents to go under the tree.
Looking at our ornaments.
Taking family walks around campus. It's so quiet when the boys are gone.
Eating the chocolate that I got in my stocking. Nom.
Wearing the watch I got for Christmas. Love, love, love it.
Making pancakes. And bacon. For myself...
Skyping with my godbrother Charlie. Miss him.
Visiting D.C. to see the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. It was lovely.
Making Funfetti cupcakes. Why you ask? Why not???? These things are amazing. I ate like 2...times 3, so like 6....
And today, I photographed gorgeous necklaces made by jeweler Nan Seale.
What have you done in the last days of 2011? It's ok if you've done absolutely nothing. You have a whole new 365 days to do something fantastic!
Happy New Year!

A little post-Thanksgiving thankfulness
I am not one to do one of those "I am thankful for..." things in the days before Thanksgiving. It's not that I'm not sentimental or don't have a heart, because I do...duhhhhhh but I tend to be thankful for the lamest stuff (andrew garfield) and why should I share that with you all when you most definitely won't even care?
One thing, that I am thankful for that is not lame in the slightest, is the Heffner family. I feel like I've known them for a very, very long time. Mrs. Heffner was the first person that actually hired me to take photos of her and her then only daughter Harper. Even today, she still continues to hire me to take photos for and I will forever be appreciative of her.

Love the picture below.
Love this picture too.
Harper & Reiss, I am so very thankful for you.

Wednesday's Weakness: Pinterest
I have had a Pinterest account for quite a while but I hadn't used it until recently. Last week I started to use it and now I'm obsessed. I even catch myself pinning during class...I know, shame on me. It's just so great though!
If you don't know what it is, you should check it out! You get to create as many inspiration boards as you want and anything you find on the internet, you can 'pin' it to your board and you can see what other people are pinning and pin what their pinning to your board! I don't think I've ever used the word pin so much in my life.
I have found graduation gift ideas from Pinterest and planning my wedding is going to be a piece of cake because of this website. Now my lovely followers, I greatly encourage you to go ahead and start pinning!
Happy Hump Day!

The Wrights | Falling Leaves
At this very moment, I am wearing shorts. It's about 70 degrees outside and it's December 6! The pictures of these 4 below, make me think of crisp fall weather and leaves falling from trees and the coming of winter. Sadly, it doesn't really feel that winter is here yet but we can just pretend.
